Episode 34: Planning out a road trip

May 9, 2018

Alex and Fitz have quite the list of things to catch up on. Some more news with guys getting their shots in the NFL and CFL get mentioned, Terry Bowden tells an Alabama radio station why nobody from the MAC will make it into the College Football Playoff (which is pretty obvious, but at least he's on record) and Athlon Sports put out their rankings for the top starting quarterbacks for 2018 — a little early for that, but whatevs.

Also, we plan out a road trip. What's the best way to hit up all 12 MAC stadiums this year?

Episode 33: The NFL Draft (p)review on memory lane

May 1, 2018

The NFL Draft has come and gone, which means next year's draft is only 12 months away. Justin and Alex review last week's draft as (only) five players from the MAC were picked, along with a bunch of others as free agents. We also get some Twitter feedback, sharing our most treasured memories.

Episode 32: Okorafor will get drafted. Then… ?

April 24, 2018

We're 99 percent sure Chukwuma Okorafor (OT- WMU) will be drafted this weekend, but who else? Darrius Phillips, Joe Ostman and Tyler Conklin are likely culprits, but they seem like late-round guys. There's a few other guys worth taking a look at, who should at least be taken via UDFA options.

Episode 31: Return of the ‘cast

April 17, 2018

After going four months without an episode (we're sorry about that), Alex, Justin and Fitz are all back to mozy our way into the preseason. We all play catch-up by rambling on about the recent conference musings, like Chuck Martin's two-year extension, EMU's new QB, Kent State possibly being good, WMU losing Reece Goddard and Kevin Johns, Carl Pelini and, of course, some Fortnite.

Episode 30: Ask not what Sean Lewis can do for Kent State, but what Kent State can do for Sean Lewis (ft. Allen Moff)

December 31, 2017

Kent State's not a great place for football and Sean Lewis wants to change that.

Allen Moff of the Record Courrier in Kent, Ohio, who covers the Golden Flashes, joins TNL to talk about the program's head coaching position: warts and all.

Issues and topics discussed on this edition of the program include: recruiting, facilities, fan engagement, why AD Joel Nielsen wanted to employ a young, offensive-minded coach with a "wrinkle" of success and what the university can do to help Lewis out along the way.

We'll start with a quick briefing on that, then we'll hit on the Boca Raton Bowl blowout. To wrap things up, we'll touch on Kent State's new head coach, Bowling Green's new defensive coordinator and Jason Candle's extension.

Episode 25: Bowl game reactions, BG makes DC change

December 7, 2017

Bowl games have been out since Sunday, but we took the time to digest the five MAC bowl games and see how we ought to feel about them. Typically, the MAC is pretty bad in these events, so it's easy to understand why we ended up being so pessimistic for the most part.

Other topics we have on the docket include Bowling Green firing its defensive coordinator and Anthony Johnson and Sutton Smith were both named Pro Football Focus All-Americans.
